Biography

REPENT were founded in the fall of 1992 near Nürnberg, Bavaria, South Germany. After the usual way over rehearsals and playing covertunes, the band recorded and released two demos (both released on tape) with own songs in 1997 and 1998. Both demos got good criticisms in the underground scene and in the big metalmagazines. REPENT play an almost forgotten style of Metal: Thrash in the vein of the great American Thrash Bands of the 80’s, which is not really surprising, when you look at REPENT´s influences: Slayer, old Metallica, Exodus, Forbidden, Sacred Reich, Heathen, Nuclear Assault and so on.

After a line-up change and the inclusion of a second guitarplayer this line-up recorded its first album, a further demo and the second album „Disciple Of Decline“. After further line-up changes REPENT finally managed to get the current album “Vortex of Violence” released on the german Cult-label High Roller Records in October 2012. So check it out und crank it up.

Keep on thrashin’ & support the underground!!!

“Alternative Biographie”

Konzertankündigung des lokalen Veranstalters in Gent, Belgien, 13.02.2005

Paul Baloff used to hang out with the TESTAMENT guys back in 87 after having rehearsed in Frisco. Back then, they used to share a secret project called REPENT but it was so secret nobody ever heard about it. They were so busy that they’ve put it in a freezer and forgot it until the San Francisco Earhtquake unleashed ist wrath upon the miserable mortals, and by a supernatural force defrosted that tape and sent it off to Germany where some crazy TESTAMENT/ EXODUS maniacs were fantasizing about travelling back in time. Back to the future and forward…travelling in time, Steve Khur, Philip Rath and Co. Stopped the clocked back in June 87 and rushed to San Fransisco to immortalise the cult. So REPENT came on the world, released a couple of demos that brought the circle mosh pits back to life…We are now 12th of February 1987, Valentine’s Day and you got your heart beating faster than a hammer…with REPENT presenting live, right in front of you, their latest opus “Disciple of decline” available on CD but also on BLUE and BLACK vinyl. All hails Paul Baloff! You got the balls to do it!
